DESCRIPTION:
A large electroplating industry in India, Allied Electronics had a problem with increased amounts of metals and cyanide in their effluent. They had no treatment method for their wastewater, and they were looking for one which would prove effective, both in terms of cost and performance.
KEM-TRON’S ANSWER:
Engineers from KEM-TRON visited the facilities, and conducted an on site testing of the effluent. A solution was custom designed, using our METALDROP series of polymers; specifically designed to remove residual metallic waste from wastewater streams. A complete estimate of the entire treatment cost was provided to the company within 24 hours.
The pH of the sample was reduced to 2 by adding Sulfuric Acid. 500 mg/L of METALDROP-M was added. 24 mg/L of a flocculant, K-FLOC F700 S2 was added. This sample was then analyzed in an independent laboratory.
RESULTS:
By applying the KEM-TRON polymer, Allied Electronics was able to dramatically improve the water quality to enable the wastewater stream to meet the requirement of the local and state authorities. Visit our Polymer section to learn more about waterwater treatment.
